YAG capsulotomy, also known as posterior capsulotomy, is a laser procedure performed to restore clear vision in patients who have developed PCO after cataract surgery. PCO occurs when the thin membrane (posterior capsule) that holds the intraocular lens becomes cloudy, leading to vision problems similar to those caused by cataracts.
