About
Internationally Trained Corneal and Cataract Specialist
Mr Nick Kopsachilis is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in complex corneal disease, cataract surgery, and premium lens surgery. He brings a rare combination of international surgical training, doctorate-level research, and senior NHS leadership to his practice at CES Medical.
He completed his ophthalmology training at two of Germany's most prestigious eye hospitals in Munich and Nuremberg before undertaking advanced subspecialty training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and King's College Hospital in London, both internationally recognised centres of excellence.
NHS Clinical Lead: Since 2016, Mr Kopsachilis has led the Cornea Service at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. In 2019, he was appointed Clinical Lead for the entire Ophthalmology Department - one of the most senior ophthalmic leadership roles in the region.
He has completed his PhD on an artificial cornea model and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery, awarded with distinction.
He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is an active member of leading international ophthalmic societies.
